Route 2012 (Penns Cave Road) between Sara Campbell Lane in Gregg Township and Route 2011 (Coburn Road) in Penn Township. Monday, October 5, through Friday, October 9. PennDOT shadow vehicles will be in the roadway for this continuously moving operation. When encountering a shadow vehicle with a “Lane Closed Do Not Pass” sign mounted on the rear and a revolving yellow light, drivers must remain behind it until it has left the roadway. Do not pass.

Mowing, herbicide spraying, and selected tree thinning help maintain a safe roadway free of obstructing vegetation, improving visibility to spot signage, traffic control devices, and other motorists, bicyclists, pedestrians, and animals approaching the road. Additionally, a well-maintained roadside can improve drainage and prolong the life of the roadway.

Flaggers in the roadway will provide traffic control during daylight hours and may deploy a pilot vehicle. When encountering a pilot vehicle with a “Pilot Car Follow Me” sign mounted on the rear and a revolving yellow light, drivers must remain behind it until it has left the roadway. Do not pass.

Shoulder cutting removes excess material and debris from unpaved shoulder areas. Shoulder grading involves the shaping and stabilizing of those same areas. Both operations improve drainage, allow water to leave the roadway, and eliminate shoulder drop-offs. These are crucial highway maintenance operations because when drainage systems do not function properly, water collects on the road, weakens pavement, accelerates the formation of potholes, and creates the potential for icing conditions in the winter months.

Guide rail systems reduce the severity of a crash by preventing a vehicle from reaching a more hazardous fixed object or terrain feature. They must remain in good working condition to contain and redirect impacting vehicles.

Route 2007 (Brush Mountain Road) between Grenoble Road and Green Grove Road in Gregg Township. Monday, September 21, through Friday, September 25. Flaggers in the roadway will provide traffic control during daylight hours and may deploy a pilot vehicle. When encountering a pilot vehicle with a “Pilot Car Follow Me” sign mounted on the rear and a revolving yellow light, drivers must remain behind it until it has left the roadway. Do not pass.

Middle Road in Gregg Township, Centre County will be closed for road construction beginning Wednesday, September 16, 2026.  The road will be closed from Bitner Hollow intersection to the Potter Twp. line.  The road will be closed for approximately two weeks.  Please use an alternate route.

Gregg Twp., Centre County is seeking a full-time Assistant Roadmaster.  Normal work week is Monday through Friday, but will be called in when weather necessitates.  Must be able to drive all township trucks and operate all township public works equipment.  Able to operate backhoe, front end loader, dump trucks, mowers, tractors, and a variety of other heavy equipment, as well as powered hand tools, and make minor repairs to the equipment.  Performs snow removal and ice control activities during winter months, including operation of plowing equipment.  CDL Class B Drivers license is required.

Once probation is successfully completed, employee will be eligible for medical health insurance, dental and vision insurance, Simple IRA Retirement Plan, PTO, and seven paid holidays.
