The August 3, 2015, Gregg Township Planning Commission meeting was called to order by Chairman Chris Kunes at 7:00 p.m.

 CITIZEN COMMENTS NOT ON THE AGENDA:  No public comments at this time.

 Mr. Kunes moved the Source Water Protection discussion to this point in the meeting.

Source Water Protection:  Those in attendance representing the water authority and the planning commission discussed the Source Water Protection Plan draft from the Department of Environmental Protection.  The steering committee for this document comprises the members of the water authority and the members of the planning commission.  Both groups would like to see this document and the maps contained in the document used for planning and educational as well as for emergency response.  This plan could be formally adopted by the Board of Supervisors as well.  After discussion, the steering committee for the source water protection plan agreed to suggest to the Board of Supervisors of Gregg Township that they formally accept this source water protection plan from the Department of Environmental Protection to be used for educational purposes. Map 4.3 in the plan should be provided to the township emergency management coordinator and the fire company to be used in emergency response. Maps, brochures and literature should be posted on the township website for public awareness of source water protection.  These suggestions will be taken to the board of supervisors.  The Steering Committee will meet on an annual basis.


Zoning Officer’s Report Mr. Lesniak was not in attendance at this meeting and did not have reports ready at the time of the meeting.

 Board of Supervisors Report The Board of Supervisors meeting minutes from July 9, 2015 and special meeting minutes from July 20, 2015 were discussed.  Mr. Bierly reported the board is moving ahead with the ordinance for 2 stick built homes on one parcel. The public hearing will be held at the Board of Supervisors meeting on August 13, 2015. The Rails to Trails steering committee meeting will be held on Wednesday, August 5. The Gregg Township 2025 committee meeting will be held on August 10. Mr. Beirly mentioned that the Board is looking at getting high speed internet for the tenants of the Old Gregg School A discussion of the internet needs and possibilities for the Old Gregg School and the YMCA were discussed.

Rails to Trails The Steering Committee meeting is to be held on Wednesday, August 5, 2015.

Approval of Meeting Minutes: Mr. Arthur made a motion to approve the July 6, 2015, Planning Commission meeting minutes. Second by Mr. Myers. Vote in favor was unanimous. 6 – 0

 SUBDIVISION/DEVELOPMENT No subdivision and development items on the agenda.

CORRESPONDENCE The meeting correspondence was reviewed.


Mr.Myers made a motion to adjourn 7:58 p.m. Second by Ms. Scheuchenzuber. Vote in favor was unanimous. 6 – 0
