 The June 1, 2015, Gregg Township Planning Commission meeting was called to order by Chairman Chris Kunes at 7:05 p.m.

 CITIZEN COMMENTS NOT ON THE AGENDA:  No public comments at this time.

 Chairman Kunes moved the Zoning Officer’s Report and the discussion on the Source Water Protection to this point in meeting.

 Zoning Officer’s Report: Penns Valley Code Enforcement Agency has issued 85 permits to date this year. They have received 22 complaints for Gregg Township with 19 being resolved.  Permits have been issued to the Mount Nittany Medical Center and they have received plans from the YMCA. The Pennsylvania Saw Mill has obtained paperwork from the county.  Mr. Lesniak attended a Zoning Hearing for Penns Mault on 119 W. Firehall Road. A zoning variance was granted as well as a parking variance.  

 Source Water Protection Plan: Mr. Mark Stephens from the Department of Environmental Protection’s (DEP) Safe Drinking Water Program discussed the draft Source Water Protection plan that was put together by the DEP for Gregg Township. He will also do a presentation with the Water Authority at their meeting in June. There are things that need to be corrected and added to the plan before the final draft is given to the township.


 Board of Supervisors Report: The Board of Supervisors meeting minutes from May 14, 2015, were discussed.

 Rails to Trails:  Jane Scheuchenzuber is writing a grant through the PA Department of Community and Economic Development Greenways, Trails and Recreation Grant Program which taps into the Act 13 (Marcellus Shale) funds. She is writing this grant for funding to put a bridge from Sinking Creek Road to the rail trail. The grant is due on June 30, 2015. Mr. Bierly made a motion that the Board of Supervisors move ahead with this grant application as long as the cost for the bridge and its components, relative to the rail trail, does not exceed the limits of the grant. Second by Mr. Seay.  Vote in favor was unanimous. 6 – 0


 Approval of Meeting Minutes: Ms. Scheuchenzuber made a motion to approve the May 4, 2015, Planning Commission meeting minutes. Second by Mr. Arthur. Vote in favor was unanimous. 6 – 0

 SUBDIVISION/DEVELOPMENT No subdivision and development items on the agenda.

 CORRESPONDENCE The meeting correspondence was reviewed.

 CODIFICATION Discussion of the final draft of the codification will take place during the July Planning Commission meeting.

 ADJOURN Ms. Scheuchenzuber made a motion to adjourn 8:35 p.m. Second by Mr. Arthur. Vote in favor was unanimous. 6 – 0
