Special Board of Supervisors Meeting Minutes

March 14, 2012

ATTENDANCE

Supervisors: Patrick Leary, Douglas Bierly; Staff: Jennifer Snyder, Secretary; Mark Konopelski, Roadmaster

VISITORS: Don Grenoble

CALL TO ORDER: The Gregg Township, Centre County, Special Board of Supervisors meeting was called to order by Chairman Patrick Leary at 5:32 p.m.

BUSINESS

CDBG: Mr. Bierly made a motion to drawn down the remaining balance in the CDBG and transfer money to pay down the Penn Vest Loan. Second by Mr. Leary. Vote in favor was unanimous.

Meeting Minutes: Mr. Bierly made a motion to approve the February 11, 2011 meeting minutes as presented. Second by Mr. Leary. Vote in favor was unanimous.

Retroactive Bridge Funding/CCMPO: Mr. Leary attended the CCMPO Technical Committee meeting. At this meeting, a motion was made concerning the Retroactive Bridge Funding. The motion stated that funding be split among all the applicants whom have currently submitted an application. Gregg Township is in the process of submitting an application for the Harter Road Bridge Replacement. The dollar amount of funds available is not known and funding will not be available until 2014. This motion will be taken to the Coordinating Committee to be voted on.

The board dismissed into an Executive Session at 5:40 p.m. to conduct job interviews and discuss personnel issues. The meeting was called back to order at 6:02 p.m.

Maintenance Worker Level 2: Mr. Bierly made a motion to offer Mr. Brandon Ripka, of Spring Mills, the position as Maintenance Worker Lever 1 for the Township of Gregg. Second by Mr. Leary. Vote in favor was unanimous.

Domestic Hot Water: Discussion took place concerning the proposals received to eliminate the oil fired hot water system previously being used at the Old Gregg School. We received quotes from Allied Mechanical, McClure, Evinity and Stanley C. Bierly's. The quote from Stanley C. Bierly's was for $17,985. Mr. Bierly made a motion to contract with Stanley Bierly's to do this work. Second by Mr. Leary. Vote in favor was unanimous.

OGS: The safety glass in the back window of the kitchen has a hole in it. The back doors have not been latching properly at the bottom. Auman's Lock and Key will be out to look at this problem and fix it. We also need to get access to open the bathroom in the Gregg Township Office.

ROAD REPORT

Mr. Konopelski stated that John Claar Excavating would be able to start the repair at Ross Hill Road Bridge in the next few days. Once this is done, we will be able to open the bridge to full capacity. Replacement of this bridge is to be done next summer, 2013.

Jonas Hostetler: We need to contact him and let him know he needs to remove pile of stone left on Blue Ball Gap Road as well as we need to discuss damage done to that road.

ADJOURN Mr. Bierly made a motion to adjourn at 6:38 p.m. Second by Mr. Leary. Vote in favor was unanimous.
