Budget Adoption Meeting Minutes

December 21, 2011


SUPERVISORS: Chairman Patrick Leary, Douglas Bierly, Joel Myers

STAFF: Mark Konopelski, Jennifer Snyder, Chris Smith, George Meyers, Donna Miller

CALL TO ORDER/PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE: Chairman Patrick Leary called the Budget Adoption Meeting for the Township of Gregg held at the Old Gregg School, 106 School Street, Spring Mills, PA to order at 12:15 p.m



1. Codification Preliminary Editorial Report: The BOS have been instructed to read over this Editorial Report. After they are finished, we can meet with Keith at Keystate Publishing and move forward on this project.

2. CCMPO Nominations: After some discussion with other townships, it was decided to that the BOS would support nominations for Ray Hankinson on the Coordinating Committee and Joel Myers on the Technical Committee. A motion was made at the previous meeting supporting these nominations.

3. Health Insurance: A brief discussion of the Health Insurance quotes took place. The Township will save over $14,000 by going with a new company. Mr. Bierly made a motion that the township go with the quote from Geisinger Health Insurance Company with an annual premium of $12,648.24. Second by Mr. Myers. Motion carried 3-0.

4. Adopt 2012 Budget: A discussion of the budget took place. Mr. Bierly made a motion to approve the 2012 budget. Second by Mr. Myers. Motion carried 3-0.

5. Musser Property: Mr. Rayman needs to know who mows the lawn at the Musser property. A discussion took place. Ms. Snyder will do some research into this matter.

6. Contract with Donna Miller: Mrs. Miller isn't ready to the sign the contract that was drawn up by Mr. Rayman. She would like time to do more research. This contract would take her off of employee status which would make her liable for all her expenses and taxes.


1. Tri-Municipal Park: The BOS will reappoint Jim Evans for 3 years and will look for a new alternate to replace Doug Royer who moved out of the township. This should be done before the re-organization meeting on January 4, 2012.

2. Auditors General Office Audit – January 5th at 9:30 am: Ms. Snyder wanted to let the group know that this will be taking place. She is expecting more details in the mail. She will let them know the results when the audit is completed.

3. Bids for Domestic Hot Water in the OGS: Mr. Bierly has been contacting vendors to give him bids for this project. So far he only has one but is looking into more. Kurt Bierly would like the board to see a building with a similar system. They will meet at OTTO's on Wed., Dec. 28, 2011 to take a tour of their facility.

The BOS wished everyone in attendance a Happy Holiday Season.


Mr.Bierly made a motion to adjourn at 12:36 p.m. Second by Mr. Myers. Motion carried 3-0.
